The New York Giants have been preparing for a widespread head coaching search for months, but still, nobody expected them to move this quickly. They already have interviews in the works with five candidates, and this doesn't even count the likely favorite in John Harbaugh, who is taking his time.
With Harbaugh waiting until next week to conduct interviews, Big Blue still has other head coaching hopefuls they plan to talk to. If you thought their talking to Mike McCarthy was bad, I have bad news, because one of those interviews is ex-Falcons' head coach Raheem Morris, who is arguably worse.
The New York Giants had dinner last night with former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, per source.

Morris is in the building today, where he’s scheduled to meet with more members of the team, including ownership, as the Giants continue their head coaching search.
Across the last two seasons in Atlanta, Morris compiled a 16-18 head coaching record, and the Falcons narrowly missed the playoffs in one of the weakest divisions in football. However, Schoen and John Mara must see something that Arthur Blank doesn't because this move makes zero sense.
Let's not forget, this guy was literally fired less than a week ago, yet he still has multiple interviews on the docket.
If the Giants are actually considering hiring Raheem Morris, they are an unserious organization
The 49-year-old isn't a bad head coach by any means, but given the allure of the Giants' coaching job, they have no reason to settle. Having Jaxson Dart, a top-five pick in the 2026 Draft, and an impressive young nucleus should be intriguing enough to land a top candidate like Harbaugh or Kevin Stefanski.
With that said, though, it's highly unlikely the Giants view Morris as a legitimate candidate. In all likelihood, they are speaking with him to see if he is a viable option to be their next defensive coordinator, which would be a fantastic get for whoever the next head coach turns out to be.
Before landing in Atlanta, the Super Bowl-winning defensive coordinator led some elite units with the Rams, and will have his pick of the litter at DC this offseason. He is a great motivator who many Falcons' stars wanted back in 2026, and his leadership style is something players easily respond to.
Something also worth noting is that Morris is a New Jersey native and played college football at Hofstra, which means that returning to his home state could intrigue him. But then again, he has no reason to ever join an organization as inept as the Giants if it's not to be the team's next head coach.
Morris is a really likable guy, but he isn't cut out for being a head coach. Yes, it's encouraging that he never lost the Falcons' locker room after they were eliminated from playoff contention, but they were only eliminated because he was clueless in how to manage both the roster and late-game situations
It's good to cast a wide net in a head coaching search, but of all of the names we've heard so far, this is one of the more underwhelming ones.
