With the NFL Draft nearly two weeks away, there has still been no indication of who the New York Giants may draft with the third overall pick.

Despite reports of Brian Daboll having breakfast with Penn State standout Abdul Carter, there have also been other reports, notable comments, and moments from both Daboll and Joe Schoen indicating that they’re also intrigued by quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter.

Even though we have to wait until draft day to see what the Giants will do with that third overall pick—whether it will be at the quarterback position or on the defensive side of the ball—could this under-the-radar QB prospect be a possible target for Big Blue?

Is Jalen Milroe a realistic fit for the G-Men?

This is a quarterback who hasn’t been talked about much throughout the draft process — Jalen Milroe out of Alabama, who is actually expected to be in the green room on NFL Draft night. In a recent article from Bleacher Report, Alex Kay listed Milroe as a possible quarterback option for the Giants.

Despite the Giants bringing in veterans Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, as well as re-signing Tommy DeVito, Kay believes that while Milroe may not be the perfect fit for the G-Men, they could still land Hunter or Carter along with Milroe in the first round if Schoen works the phones on draft night.

"Armed with eight picks this year and plenty of future selections, Schoen has plenty of ways to make deals if he wants to work the phones and get back into the first round to nab Milroe," Kay wrote.

"Milroe may not be the answer to New York’s current woes, but the Crimson Tide product has real potential to become the organization’s starter sooner than later. Even if the Giants do to get back into contention with Wilson or Winston, they are both only signed to short-term deals and are on the wrong side of 30. Milroe could be a natural successor to either one in 2026."

Even though Milroe hasn’t been as highly touted as Sanders or Cam Ward, he would still be an upgrade at quarterback for a Giants team that has struggled at the position for quite some time. Over his last two seasons with the Crimson Tide, the 22-year-old passed for more than 2,800 yards with a combined 39 touchdowns to just 17 interceptions. Milroe is also a very mobile quarterback, rushing for a career-high 726 yards last season with 20 rushing scores.

While it would certainly be unlikely for the Giants to land both Hunter or Carter and also get their quarterback of the future in Milroe, it would still be considered a widely successful draft night for Big Blue—one that could lead to significant improvement in 2025.
