We're so back! New York Giants training camp is officially here, with players reporting to the Quest Diagnostics Training Center on Tuesday and the first open practice on Wednesday.
From now until their Week 1 meeting with the NFC runners-up, the Washington Commanders, on Sunday, Sept. 7, Big Blue's coaching staff will look to continue to improve the roster.
It's already been a productive offseason for Joe Schoen and company. They brought in quarterbacks Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Jaxson Dart on offense. And on defense they added Abdul Carter to a loaded front seven, and improved the secondary with the additions of Paulson Adebo and Jevon Holland.
Just when you thought Schoen and Co. were done, they made a timely move before training camp to continue bolstering their secondary depth. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the G-Men have made another move before camp:

Veteran safety K'Von Wallace will be in attendance for Big Blue's first practice on Wednesday, after the G-Men signed him on Tuesday. He will join a safety room consisting of Holland and Tyler Nubin — who are the projected starters — along with Dane Belton.

The Wallace signing checks a lot of boxes, especially given his familiarity with defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and one of the Giants’ most important defensive anchors.
K'Von Wallace joining the Giants was a no-brainer move for Joe Schoen
Wallace played at Clemson and is a former college teammate of Giants All-Pro nose tackle Dexter Lawrence II. The 27-year-old was a 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Eagles, but since entering the league has bounced around between multiple teams.
One of Wallace's stops was with the Tennessee Titans in 2023, where he played under Bowen, totaling 46 combined tackles and two passes defended in 10 games played and seven starts.
Wallace has also spent time with the Eagles, Cardinals, and, most recently, the Seahawks. He played the best with the Cardinals in 2023, where he posted 43 combined tackles, one interception, and four passes defended in seven games and five starts.
Now with the Giants, Wallace isn’t expected to start right away, but his experience and connection with Bowen could put him in line for snaps — or even a couple starts — if the safety group underperforms or runs into injuries.
The Giants can use all the help they can in their defensive backfield. Their secondary was only ranked 24th in the league by Pro Football Focus, even with the additions of Adebo and Holland. This signing addresses a significant need for Big Blue heading into 2025 and can maybe even boost their ranking over the next few weeks.
