Week 2 wads a true nightmare situation for the New York Giants. Riding high after a huge season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys, the vibes immediately cratered once Jaxson Dart exited seven plays into the game. After attempting a leaping pass, the second-year quarterback injured his left knee after getting sandwiched between two Los Angeles Rams defenders. He was ruled out for the remaidner of the game, where reports indicated that the belief is Dart sprained his MCL.

Dart's injury felt like a domino effect, as other top players suffered injuries. Wide receiver Malik Nabers was the first one after the Dart injury, as he was favoring his shoulder after atttepting a catch in tight coverage. It looked bad for Nabers, as he sat on the bench with a towel over his head, but he later returned to the game. The Giants went on to lose 28-6.

After the game, Malik Nabers revealed the severity of his injury, and why he never planned on getting ruled out.

Malik Nabers revealed that separated shoulder wasn't going to keep him out of Giants' Week 2 matchup

While speaking with reporters, Nabers revealed that he left the game after separating his shoulder. But Nabers said that he popped his shoulder back in, saying that he didn't want the team to deal wit another player leaving the game after Dart suffered his left knee injury.

"My shoulder's okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what's going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost Jax, so I didn't want to give the team another loss," said Nabers, h/t SNY.

While his toughness is admirable, Giants fans are going to want to keep an eye on the results of the additional testing that Nabers is set to undergo on his shoulder. The last thing the Giants need is another one of their top players on offense being sidelined due to an injury.

Nabers tried toughing it out, but there was no hope of the Giants offense doing anything against the Rams defense. Quarterback Jameis Winston wasn't playing up to par, looking bad with clean and collapsing pockets. That led to limited production from Nabers, who caught just one of four targets for a total of one yard.

Giants may have to navigate offense without Jaxson Dart for foreseeable future

The reality is, the Giants are going to have to move forward without Dart for quite a bit, depending on the final results of his testing. It appears that Dart avoided the worst case scenario, as he was seen standing on the sidelines in sweats. In fact, reporting from ESPN was that the Giants had to confiscate Dart's uniform, as he was trying to return to play.

The somewhat good news is that the Giants will have a favorable schedule. This upcoming Sunday, they take on a winless Tennessee Titans team that has former Giants head coach Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator. Then, in Week 4, they take on the Arizona Cardinals, who entered this season expected to be the worst team in the league. In Week 5, they face the Washington Commanders, who could be without quarterback Jayden Daniels after suffering a dislocated left elbow.

So, the Giants could manage to stay afloat and get some wins. But, they'll need to play much better than they did on Monday night, that includes offense and defense.
