The New York Giants are gearing up for a completely different brand of football in 2026. This team has made so many moves that it will be almost unrecognizable in September. But the mass roster turnover can't distract from the true superstar of this offense.

Malik Nabers, if healthy, is set to light up the NFL this season.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report handed out some early dark-horse candidates for the NFL Awards following the upcoming season, choosing Nabers as a potential Offensive Player of the Year winner. If you've been watching the electric wideout, that shouldn't come as a surprise.

If Giants' WR Malik Nabers is healthy, he's a clear OPOY candidate

Nabers is at a crossroads in his career, as the knee injury he sustained last season has seemingly continued to linger as the 2026 season approaches. A complete package of skill and hype that has shown enough in his rookie campaign in 2024 to have a leg to stand on, fans are pleading that he will be healthy for next season.

The Giants brass brought in as many big guns as they could to push the narrative that Big Blue is back in business. Darnell Mooney, Odell Beckham Jr., and the drafting of Malachi Fields give this wide receiver room some life. Nabers coming back from injury is the cream of the crop.

Nabers fits in among the NFL's elite offensive players, but his OPOY case comes with a little bit of uncertainty. He will get targets in droves next season, but if Jaxson Dart takes a step back, Nabers could suffer the consequences.

In 2026, there is no telling how this team will perform. The Giants have already been a popular pick to make a surprise playoff run, but there are still plenty of reasons to be concerned about the roster as it stands.

Nabers' ascension to superstardom is nearly complete, and we wouldn't be shocked to see him take another step forward this season, potentially reaching OPOY status.

The last five players to win this prestigious award each played at least 16 games that year. At the end of the day, these awards are largely driven by production. If Nabers is going to make a push to win the Offensive Player of the Year award in 2026, he will need to be healthy throughout the season. If he's on the field, there's nothing holding him back.
