The New York Giants are tentatively on the clock with their fifth-overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. It is a really interesting time for this franchise, where, before, it would have been an easy decision to just take it.

Now armed with the 10th overall pick following the Dexter Lawrence blockbuster trade to Cincinnati, there's a chance for the G-Men to make some serious moves in the first round. Of all the teams in the top-10 of this draft, they can shuffle things around as they please.

Last week, the team hosted some last-minute visits from prospective draft picks. These guys have a chance to fix whatever remaining holes are left in the depth chart and give this team a much-needed boost later in the draft -- think Days 2 and 3.

Our friend Dan Duggan over at The Athletic mentioned a couple names to potentially keep an eye out for:

Using the Dexter Lawrence trade return to add more late-round picks

As you can see, a couple of those guys -- Chris McClellan, Josiah Trotter, Tacario Davis -- are slated to drop into the third and fourth rounds. The Giants do not have a third-round pick this season, as they used it in the deal to trade for quarterback Jaxson Dart.

So could we see a trade-down scenario with one of the two top-10 picks to add some picks?

There's definitely a scenario where the Giants could get a first and a third (if not a second) for 10. That pick will be highly sought after, and Big Blue can hold it for a king's ransom to use it to bolster their team even further.

The visits do bring an interesting angle to the Giants' front seven on defense. Without Lawrence, there is a giant hole in the center of the defensive line, and seeing as though they won't fix it with either of the top-10 selections, acquiring a third-rounder for McClellan is a great choice. The G-Men can still get a top-tier prospect and patch up the Lawrence void like McClellan, who had the fourth-best production score for his position at the NFL Combine, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

Trotter is another great option as well, as this team can potentially find a player that puts the heat on linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux. Josiah is the son of former NFL star Jeremiah Trotter, who was a terrorizing force with the Philadelphia Eagles for 11 seasons. Why not bring in a player with that kind of legacy to improve an already ascending linebacking unit?

No matter what happens, this team is going to have a very entertaining next couple of days. Let's hope these new guys come in and give Big Blue some instant relief.
