Sometimes, it's difficult to look beyond something so gross and disturbing and see there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes, it's easier to tunnel-vision on the now and forget about the future. For those following the New York Giants, life has been tough, but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Year three under head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen has not gone according to plan. After failing to build on 2022's success last year, this year is about as catastrophic a failure as you'll find in the NFL. That said, we implore you to channel your inner Jim Valvano and, "Don't give up, don't ever give up."

The Giants have an outstanding rookie class in which the future foundation will be built. Two rookies in particular are setting the tone, and rewriting history along the way.

Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. have been a force to be reckoned with for the G-Men. Both have injected life into a relatively lifeless offense and are two of the brightest stars on the roster. In fact, since 2006, the duo has been so electric that only Reggie Bush and Marques Colston have ever matched their scrimmage yards per game output. And that has to mean something.

Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. are doing things the league hasn't seen since Reggie Bush and Marques Colston with the Saints

Back in 2006, the New Orleans Saints featured two rookies who would go on to take the league by storm. Reggie Bush was a known commodity at USC. He'd become the most electric college football player fans had ever seen. Marques Colston, on the other hand, was unproven coming out of Hofstra University. Suffice it to say that both helped the Saints enormously in their rookie seasons.

That duo helped head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees go 10-6 and earn a playoff win.

That year, Bush racked up 1,307 scrimmage yards, while Colston hauled in 1,038 receiving yards. Together, they formed one of the most dynamic rookie duos the league has ever seen. Nabers and Tracy Jr. are walking a similar path, averaging 75 and 68 scrimmage yards per game. Combined, they’re bringing in over 140 yards of offense every week—and that’s no small feat.

The Giants might not be heading for a 10-6 season like those Saints, but let’s be real: Nabers and Tracy Jr. are just as crucial to what this team is trying to build. What makes their breakout year even more impressive is the chaos around them. They’re producing in less-than-ideal circumstances, proving their talent and work ethic are the real deal.

This rookie duo isn’t just a spark—they’re the start of something special. For a team that’s been searching for answers, Nabers and Tracy Jr. are providing them in a big way. They’ve shown the potential to anchor the offense for years to come, giving fans a reason to believe that brighter days are ahead.

If Bush and Colston taught us anything, it’s that a pair of rookies can change the trajectory of a franchise. Giants fans should take note: with players like Nabers and Tracy Jr., the future feels a whole lot closer than it did just a few months ago.
