The NY Giants actually managed to bring in quite a solid haul of picks and players in the 2024 NFL Draft, as they replaced the massive hole Saquon Barkley left in this offense by watching fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy take the lead. The results last year were better than anyone could have expected.
However, Tracy was by no means a perfect player, as he also had a fumbling issue that managed to pop up at the worst possible time. After putting the ball on the ground five times last season, Tracy is trying everything to fix what has been his biggest issues as a pro player.
Tracy has purchased grip strengtheners from Amazon in the offseason in an attempt to hold onto the ball as much as possible. With his penchant for causing some untimely turnovers, taking some of the shine off what was a tremendous rookie season, the fact that he is being proactive in trying to fix this issue should be appealing for Giants fans.
If Tracy takes a step forward as a runner, all while cutting the fumbles out of his game, the Giants may sneakily end up with one of the more consistent ground games in the league. It's incumbent on Brian Daboll, however, to reward Tracy for his improvements.

Tracy totaled over 1,100 yards from scrimmage as a rookie, 839 of which came on the ground, while scoring a combined six touchdowns. That's not too bad for someone who started his college career at wide receiver and is still learning the finer points of the position.
Tracy will need to fight for every snap on the 2025 squad, as the selection of Cam Skattebo could give the Giants a more old-school, power-based alternative who could vulture carries away if Tracy doesn't fix his big problem. As of now, however, Tracy remains the top dog in the pecking order.
Giants fans may remember that Tiki Barber famously came into the league with fumbling issues, thought he was later able to overcome it and pull off one of the greatest careers in Giants history. Tracy may not be in line for that level of splendor as a running back, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he puts himself in the upper tier of backs in the NFC after this season.
