The New York Giants' front office is preparing for their most productive offseason in recent history, where they will be assessing everything. The main priority will be the quarterback position, and we can expect general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll to consider Colorado's Sheuder Sanders or Miami's Cam Ward with their first-round draft pick.

While we can expect the Giants to draft their next franchise cornerstone at quarterback, free agency will be just as crucial for Schoen and Daboll.

Other than addressing the quarterback position, it's never a bad idea to invest in proper offensive linemen. Therefore, we can expect Big Blue to be active in free agency to bolster their pass-blocking unit. We saw the Giants do a similar exercise last offseason when they signed Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemenor, and Greg Van Roten. With Van Roten on a one-year deal and turning 35 in February, the Giants will likely move on from the veteran and go in a different direction, clearing up space for an upgrade.

Bleacher Report recently looked at every roster's most significant weakness before Week 15. The article listed a move every team should make right now and looked ahead to 2025 free agency. With Dexter Lawrence sidelined for the remainder of the season, B/R named defensive tackle Siaki Ika as a player the team could sign for the next four weeks. If Ika plays well, he could be a part of the Giants' long-term plan, as he's only 24 years old.

B/R also mentions offensive guard Mekhi Becton as a 2025 free-agent target for the Giants this offseason. We believe Becton would be a perfect upgrade.

Would Mekhi Becton be a good fit for the Giants in 2025?

Becton's career got off to a rough start with the New York Jets. He was drafted with the 11th overall pick out of Louisville in the 2020 NFL Draft to play offensive tackle. While Becton was a highly touted prospect out of college, he couldn't meet expectations with the Jets—he struggled to stay healthy and missed most of the 2021 season and the entire 2022 season.

Becton signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles before this season, and it's proven to be his best career decision to date. The 25-year-old is having a breakout 2024 campaign after switching from tackle to guard and earning the starting right guard job. According to PFF, Becton has earned a 72.6 grade overall and has only surrendered 19 pressures through Week 13.

After this season, Becton will become a free agent, and there will certainly be a market for him. The Giants could use the offensive line help, and with Becton's experience already playing at MetLife Stadium and against NFC East opponents, he would be a great fit for Big Blue.
