It’s hard to ignore the young core the New York Giants have built over the last few years. On paper, the group looks strong, but there still isn't enough of a sample size to fully legitimize it. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report listed Big Blue as having the fourth-best young core in the NFL heading into 2026.

Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Malik Nabers are the big three on offense -- along with Andrew Thomas, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Isaiah Likely. While Abdul Carter, Paulson Adebo, and Kayvon Thibodeaux headline the defense. And that's just the group of players who have already played in a Big Blue uniform.

The Giants have quietly built one of the NFL’s most interesting young cores

The names listed above highlight a lot of the key positions on the football field. With that said, their execution and performance next season will make or break the 2026 season. If any of them falter, it could spell disaster.

After a four-win effort in 2025, it's hard to completely shake that feeling when looking ahead to the potential of 2026. This team looks capable of winning 10 or 11 games next season, but there still isn't a lot of tape proving they are fully ready for that jump.

If there's one saving grace, it's that head coach John Harbaugh is a proven leader in the locker room. He's one of the best in football at bringing a group together and getting players to gel quickly. That same thing has to happen once again with the G-Men.

Dart has a massive season ahead of him, especially with a healthy running back and star wide receiver back in the fold. That trio is going to be talked about every single week, and there is very little room for failure. Every game moves this team one step closer toward its goal of becoming a playoff contender.

A fourth-place ranking for this young core feels fair, but there is still enough uncertainty to understand why some people may hesitate. Plus, look at the incoming draft class highlighted by offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa, cornerback Colton Hood, and middle linebacker Arvell Reese. Their first NFL seasons are already coming with huge expectations attached.

There are still plenty of questions surrounding this roster, but that can work both ways. Opponents still do t fully know what this team is capable of, especially with so many new faces stepping into major roles. The Giants feel very boom-or-bust heading into 2026, but for the first time in a while, the ceiling actually feels worth buying into.
