Giants' game-by-game predictions after 2026 NFL schedule release

So predictable.

The 2026 NFL schedule is officially locked in, and the feelings are all over the place. The New York Giants are looking to wash their hands of the last decade of irrelevance with a new slate. With heavyweight head coach John Harbaugh taking the reins and second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart ready to level up, this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory.

This isn’t your dad's identity overhaul. It’s a total cultural revamp. Harbs brings just about everything this locker room has desperately lacked. The G-Men finally have the foundation in place to make MetLife Stadium a nightmare for opposing teams once again.

A new era doesn’t mean a ticket to the playoffs, though. This 2026 slate is certified tough, packed with playoff hopefuls and a brutal late-year stretch. Let’s look at the matchups and break down exactly how this rollercoaster season shakes out game by game.

New York Giants 2026 game-by-game predictions

Week 1 vs. Dallas Cowboys

What better way to kickstart the Harbaugh era than with a Week 1 prove-it game against Big Blue's hated division rival? Although the G-Men split their series against America's Team last year, history suggests a return to the Cowboys' dominance -- look no further than 2023's opener, when they beat the Giants 40-0. But you know what they say about history: it (never) repeats itself.

The energy is clearly shifting in North Jersey, and after suffering through a decade of misery, the buzz around this team with Jaxson Dart and Harby will be too much for Dallas to overcome, resulting in a tone-setting early-season win. A buzzing MetLife crowd will give the new-look Giants the ultimate signature win to start the year off on the best note.

Giants win | Record: 1-0

Week 2 @ Los Angeles Rams

It's easy to stay high on the Week 1 fumes, but a road trip to visit Sean McVay and the Rams is a nightmare reality check. LA was just one game short of making the Super Bowl last year, and with Matthew Stafford still slinging the football, they possess all the explosive offensive firepower they need. To make matters worse, the Rams' dominant defensive front -- featuring Jared Verse, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, and Byron Young -- is all but impossible to block.

Rookie right guard Francis Mauigoa is going to be tested early and often in this game, as will veterans Jon Runyan and John Michael Schmitz. It is a massive hurdle for the interior offensive line, resulting in a failed effort on the road when the clock reads zeroes.

Giants lose | Record: 1-1

Week 3 vs. Tennessee Titans

This one is personal, as former Giants head coach Brian Daboll returns to East Rutherford for the first time since getting fired after last year's Week 10 collapse against the Bears. Now serving as Tennessee's offensive coordinator, Daboll brought a handful of familiar faces with him to Nashville, including Wan'Dale Robinson, Cordale Flott, Daniel Bellinger, and Austin Schlottmann.

Despite the emotional storyline and the revenge factor, the Titans stand out as one of the weaker opponents on New York's 2026 slate. With a disciplined leader like John Harbaugh at the helm, the G-Men are built to navigate the trap game without overlooking a lesser opponent. It's an early-season must-win game, and the G-Men execute exactly as they should to get the W.

Giants win | Record: 2-1

Week 4 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Knowing that Jacoby "Jake Briskett" Brissett will be the Cards' QB for the 2026 season, which should immediately make life feel a whole lot easier for Big Blue's defense. But the real drama in this game comes from a heavy dose of draft-day spite. Arizona took Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love third overall -- a player Big Blue really wanted -- leaving Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese to slide right into New York's lap at pick five.

Many experts thought the Cardinals would grab Reese at three, and the rookie linebacker is going to make them regret that snub. Expect a massive breakout performance from Reese as he completely disrupts Arizona's offensive game plan, setting up Jaxson Dart and Malik Nabers to comfortably open up the deep passing game downfield for an easy win.

Giants win | Record: 3-1

Wekk 5 @ Washington Commanders

Sometimes you just lose a division game on the road -- it's a harsh reality that New York does far more often than fans would like to admit. Coming off the high of a 3-1 start, this trips us right up as a healthy Jayden Daniels dominates under center for Washington.

Harby isn’t exactly known for blazing hot starts over the past couple of seasons, making this the absolute perfect spot for a minor flop.

Giants lose | Record: 3-2

Week 6 vs. New Orleans Saints

We all remember the frustration of inexplicably losing to a Spencer Rattler-led Saints team in the Mardi Gras capital of the world last year. This time around, it’s a high-noon showdown of Year 2 quarterbacks as Dart goes punch-for-punch with Tyler Shough.

The Saints have a shiny new weapon in wideout Jordyn Tyson to complement Chris Olave, giving this game all the structural ingredients for an old-fashioned aerial shootout. Big Blue edges out a sneaky-exciting, redemptive win.

Giants win | Record: 4-2

Week 7 @ Houston Texans

We should have an honest assessment of this matchup because the Houston Texans' defense under DeMeco Ryans is an absolute demon. While C.J. Stroud might not be a consensus top-10 quarterback in the league just yet, he and an offensive arsenal featuring Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz, and Jayden Higgins are more than good enough to light up the scoreboard.

The one clear path to an advantage is unleashing the pass-rush against a highly worrisome Houston offensive line. However, Ryans is going to have his defensive unit entirely prepared to put Dart and Co. in a bind early and often, making a road win too heavy a lift.

Giants lose | Record: 4-3

Week 8 Bye

Week 9 @ Philadelphia Eagles

Even though the Giants look much better on paper than they did at this time last year, we have to admit the Eagles still sit at the top of the NFC East hierarchy. It's annoying, but it's true. This game could get wildly chaotic if star receiver A.J. Brown ends up getting traded, but even without him, Jalen Hurts still has an embarrassing amount of riches to work with.

Between DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Saquon Barkley (yuck), a dominant offensive line, and rookie playmakers Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers, Philly simply presents too many defensive assignments for the G-Men to handle at Lincoln Financial Field.

Giants lose | Record: 4-4

Week 10 vs. Washington Commanders

Remember the frustrations from Week 5? This is where Harbaugh and his staff get the team right back on track by securing a statement divisional win to kickstart the back nine of the season.

The Commies are a heavily flawed roster, and just because the Giants couldn't exploit those weaknesses down in D.C., it doesn't mean they won't execute perfectly on their own turf. Expect defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson to learn from the team's early-season faults and contain Daniels, getting New York back over .500 for a late-season run.

Giants win | Record: 5-4

Week 11 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars shocked just about everybody during the 2025 season by riding a 13-4 wave to the playoffs, but that felt much more like an out-of-the-ordinary fluke than a statement that they are a mainstay. Trevor Lawrence and Liam Coen are a highly dynamic quarterback-coach duo, but this is precisely the type of game where hiring a guy like John Harbaugh pays immediate dividends.

On paper, the G-Men probably have no business winning this game against a heavily favored opponent, but a disciplined, physical game plan allows New York to pull off the upset.

Giants win | Record: 6-4

Week 12 @ Indianapolis Colts

Ah, Daniel Jones. We meet again. Danny Dimes is coming off a torn Achilles tendon that prematurely ended his 2025 season -- a year where, prior to his injury, he actually had the Colts playing as one of the surprise darlings of the league.

While it remains to be seen if he is fully ready to roll, the Colts showed their belief by handing him a massive two-year, $88 million extension to remain the starter in Indy. This road trip serves as the ultimate narrative backdrop for the G-Men to relentlessly hunt down their former quarterback, who never quite figured it all out during his rollercoaster tenure in New York.

Giants win | Record: 7-4

Week 13 vs. San Francisco 49ers

You can't run forever, and this is where the Thanos-sized gauntlet officially begins for Big Blue. It comes at a particularly brutal time, as the Giants roll into late November riding a high-stakes three-game winning streak and sitting firmly in the NFC playoff hunt.

But when a postseason spot is actively on the line, you have to lean on the team that has made the playoffs four out of the last five seasons over an unproven roster still learning how to win consistently. Kyle Shanahan’s offense and the sheer star power of Christian McCaffrey, Mike Evans, and George Kittle will ultimately overwhelm our valiant defensive effort.

Giants lose | Record: 7-5

Week 14 @ Seattle Seahawks

Traveling to the Pacific Northwest brings an incredible chess match, featuring a pure mentor-versus-mentee battle as Harbaugh stares across the field at his former defensive coordinator, Mike Macdonald. To make things even more daunting, the Seahawks happen to be the defending Super Bowl champions, and Lumen Field will be absolutely deafening as it always is.

Seattle might've lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs this offseason, but they won't need much offense to win this game. They're still very much expected to be contenders in '26, and Macdonald's defense continues to assert itself as the class of the NFL here late in the season.

Giants lose | Record: 7-6

Week 15 vs. Cleveland Browns

John Harbaugh doesn't lose to the Browns. In 18 years with the Ravens, he has a 28-8 record against his former AFC North rivals, including an impressive 16-3 record at home. The outlook is bleak for Cleveland here. By Week 15, the Harbaugh effect should be in full force and ready to be unleashed.

An underwhelming quarterback competition in Cleveland between Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel will have half the team already checked out as they look to the 2027 Draft to hope the millionth quarterback they draft since 2000 will finally be the one. This is about a mortal of a lock possible.

Giants win | Record: 8-6

Week 16 @ Detroit Lions

Get ready for a highly anticipated, potentially electric prime-time rematch of last year's chaotic overtime thriller in Detroit. None of us will ever forget the peak Jameis Winston Experience game, where he threw for 366 yards and actually caught a 33-yard touchdown on a trick play before Aidan Hutchinson and Jahmyr Gibbs shattered dreams in OT.

The storyline is great, but trying to slow down Detroit's star-powered offense under the lights is a brutal ask. Expect an entertaining, high-energy, must-watch battle, but a late defensive stand by the Lions hands the G-Men a tough road loss.

Giants lose | Record: 8-7

Week 17 @ Dallas Cowboys

Losing a late-season game in Arlington always hurts, but it is especially brutal knowing Dak Prescott holds a dominant 14-3 all-time record against the Giants. Two of those losses came courtesy of Eli Manning, a looooong time ago, and his third loss was handed to him in Week 18 last year... but only after the Cowboys pulled him at halftime.

While the Week 1 victory will technically hand him his fourth loss, don't expect Round 2 in Dallas to go the same way. The Cowboys will likely be fighting for playoff seeding, and with a high-powered offense featuring Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens going completely berserk, this loss leaves the Giants' wildcard hopes on temporary life support.

Giants lose | Record: 8-8

Week 18 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

We wrap up the regular season at home, and the script flips beautifully. The Eagles under head coach Nick Sirianni are not exactly known for finishing their regular seasons on a strong note, often limping into January. Give me a hungry, desperate G-Men team fighting for their postseason lives over a Philly squad that could easily be resting starters or already looking ahead to the playoffs.

Big Blue executes a flawless game plan to secure the victory, finishing the regular season with a 9-8 record. It wraps up a wildly promising, foundational first year under Harbaugh, sending us into an incredibly exciting 2027 offseason on the highest note possible.

Giants win | Record: 9-8

Time will tell if a 9-8 record is enough to get them into the postseason, but consider me officially bullish on this team in 2026.
