Giants’ post-Round 1 mock draft proves they are nowhere near done

After a near-perfect Round 1, the Giants are ready to double down on Day 2.

With Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft officially in the books, the New York Giants can breathe a little easier knowing they already landed two cornerstone pieces. Abdul Carter gives them a future star on defense. Jaxson Dart gives them a developmental quarterback with real upside. That’s the hard part.

Now, with just one pick on Day 2—No. 65 overall—the Giants shift their focus to rounding out the rest of their roster. It’ll be a longer wait to see their logo pop up on the clock again, but that only gives them more time to see how the board falls and make the smart, calculated moves that have defined their draft so far.

Let’s take a crack at how the rest of the Giants’ draft could unfold using Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Simulator from Rounds 3 and on.

Round 3, Pick 65 - Alfred Collins DT, Texas

After bolstering their pass rush with a generational talent in Abdul Carter, the Giants get back up at 65 and draft Alfred Collins, the run-stuffing monster out of Texas.

Collins is still developing as a pass rusher but is already one of the best run-stuffing tackles in the entire draft. Putting Collins next to Dexter Lawrence and letting him free up other linemen and edge rushers could be a nightmare for opposing offenses.

The 6-5, 332-pound mammoth defensive tackle would be the monster in the middle the Giants need.

Round 4, Pick 105 - Ollie Gordon, RB, Oklahoma St

After finishing up the defense, the Giants are back on the board 40 picks later and select 6-1, 226-pound running back Ollie Gordon from Oklahoma State.

Gordon had a rough 2024 both on and off the field with injuries and legal issues, but at one point he was viewed as one of the best RB prospects in the 2025 draft. Oklahoma State regressed as a team, but that didn’t stop Gordon from rushing for 880 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The yards may not jump off the page, but the year prior he rushed for over 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has a nose for the end zone and could serve as a strong complement to Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the Giants’ backfield.

Round 5, Pick 154 - Anthony Belton, OT, NC St

After giving the Giants another offensive weapon, they come back at pick 154 to give Russell Wilson—and hopefully future franchise QB Jaxson Dart—a protector up front.

Anthony Belton is huge, coming in at 6-6 and 336 pounds. He played left tackle at NC State last season and boosted his stock with an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl. Belton is physical, violent, and strong in the run game (though he can still improve), and he sometimes plays with a high pad level. He’s got some things to work on but also brings a lot to like to the table.

Round 6, Pick 219 - LaJohntay Wester, WR, Colorado

At pick 219, the Giants take the fast and athletic wide receiver from Colorado, LaJohntay Wester. Remember, the Giants’ contingent was out in full force at Colorado’s showcase. While most of the attention was on Shedeur Sanders, more eyes on the field means more prospects were seen.

Wester is smaller, listed at 5-10, 163 pounds, but he’s shown he can be productive lining up both inside and out. He racked up over 1,100 yards at Florida Atlantic on more than 100 catches before transferring to Colorado last season. Adding Wester to the speed the Giants already have could spell trouble for opposing defenses.

Round 7, Pick 246 - Drew Kendall, C, Boston College

A bit of a late bloomer in the draft process, with their last pick, the Giants select Boston College center Drew Kendall. Kendall is a three-year starter at BC and has improved every year. The 6-4, 304-pound center has never given up a sack and allowed just five quarterback pressures over close to 400 snaps.

With current center John Michael Schmitz struggling to stay healthy and consistent, Kendall could find himself in a great situation competing for a job. The Giants love their BC offensive linemen, and if Kendall is anything like their last one, both the fans and organization will be ecstatic with the player they’re getting.
