It is hard to remember the last time there has been this much excitement surrounding the New York Giants.
After another dismal 2025 season, New York went all in to try to change the culture around the franchise by hiring John Harbaugh as its next head coach. Harbaugh not only brings a Super Bowl championship pedigree to East Rutherford but also a winning mentality from his 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, something that has been lacking with this Giants team for a long time.
With Harbs now in the building, expectations are certainly high for the 2026 season and beyond, especially with Big Blue having a young, potential franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart. Harbaugh’s start to the offseason as the Giants’ head coach has even resulted in their offseason being described with one simple and perfect word.
This one word perfectly sums up the Giants offseason to this point
In an article for Bleacher Report, Alex Ballentine described the offseason for teams across the NFL with one word, calling the Giants' offseason reimagined:
"These offseason moves are exactly what you'd expect from a team undergoing a regime change. John Harbaugh is looking to ignite a quick turnaround with some familiar faces (Isaiah Likely, Ar'Darius Washington, and Patrick Ricard) and some players that fit his mold (Tremaine Edmunds and Greg Newsome II)," Ballentine wrote.
This first offseason under Harbaugh has made it very clear that he's not only looking to retool and reshape this franchise, but also that he will make most of the personnel decisions.
The G-Men signed three former Ravens by inking Pro Bowl tight end Isaiah Likely to a three-year contract, signing punter Jordan Stout to the largest contract for a punter, and even adding fullback Pat Ricard on a market-resetting deal. New York also shored up their defense by signing linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, cornerback Greg Newsome II, and safety Ar'Darius Washington.
And while the Giants opted to let Wan'Dale Robinson depart and sign with the Tennessee Titans, they found perhaps the perfect replacements by adding both Calvin Austin and Darnell Mooney to one-year deals.
There is no question about it: this is John Harbaugh's team, and he has certainly reimagined how he can deliver a winning product for a fanbase that has been frustrated for a very long time.
