The New York Giants are in an all-out search for their next quarterback. That much has been obvious for months.

After the failed Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito experiments, it’s time to alter course. General manager Joe Schoen has left every option on the table—trading up, trading down, or standing pat at No. 3—but if he wants full control over who they take in April, he might need to make a move.

With the Tennessee Titans sitting at No. 1 and the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, there’s no guarantee the Giants will get their guy when their number is called. The Titans have made it known they’re open for business, and Big Blue has been rumored to be in on just about every quarterback solution imaginable.

But here’s where it gets interesting. For once, a Giants trade rumor doesn’t involve Matthew Stafford. Shocking, right? Instead, this one is all about the NFL Draft—and it just took a major turn.

NFL insider Benjamin Allbright just dropped one of the most cryptic yet obvious draft hints of the offseason, and it’s going to stir the pot in a big way.

NFL insider hints at Titanic Giants trade for No. 1 overall pick

Sometimes a social media post deserves a chef's kiss, and this is one of those times. Allbright posted:

"A large trade. A Giant one. Titanic if you will."

Large. Giant. Titanic. Not so subtle. So… yeah. That seems pretty clear. It doesn't take much reading between the lines to figure out what he's hinting at here.

The Giants currently hold the No. 3 overall pick, which means they wouldn’t have to give up as much as other teams to jump to No. 1—but it still wouldn’t be cheap. The two quarterbacks expected to go at the top of the draft—Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders—have been linked to Big Blue for months.

If Schoen doesn’t want to risk losing out on his guy, then the best way to avoid that problem is to move up.

This is where things get interesting. Schoen has already stated at the NFL Combine he’s willing to trade up or down, but he hasn’t tipped his hand on whether or not a move to No. 1 is on his bingo card. Meanwhile, Titans GM Mike Borgonzi all but confirmed they’re open to trading down, telling reporters:

"We’re always going to try to gather as many picks in the Top 100 as we can."

If the Titans are looking to stockpile picks instead of taking a QB, and the Giants want to control their destiny and ensure they land their guy, this could be a perfect match.

Sticking at No. 3 means the Giants run the risk of both Ward and Sanders being taken before their selection, potentially leaving them with a decision between defensive stars like Penn State's Abdul Carter or Colorado's Travis Hunter instead of a quarterback. If they’re sold on one of the QBs, why wait?

A trade up would be a bold, franchise-altering move—but that’s exactly the kind of swing Schoen needs to take. Whether or not he actually does it? That’s what we’ll be waiting to find out.
