We are in that wonderful time of the year where anyone can say anything, and league sources have all woken up from hibernation to start buzzing in their league circles. The time between free agency and the draft is just a free-for-all of NFL rumors, most of which are probably nowhere close to being true.

That is, unless, they're exciting Giants rumors. Those are all true. For instance, Bleacher Report's NFL Insider James Palmer recently had a juicy little bit of information about where the Giants are headed in regards to their current QB conundrum. In his podcast/web series/digital notebook thingy, Palmer chatted about what teams have done the most work scouting both the draft-eligible QBs this year and the free agent market. If you can believe it, the Giants made a lengthy cameo.
It sounds like the Giants are dead set on getting a QB in this year's Draft
"I would say the Giants are one of the teams, to my understanding, that has done far and away the most work on quarterbacks in this draft, and the quarterback market," Palmer said. "Probably above everybody else. They have just put a ton of work and resources into the quarterback market. Especially into the draft. So they’re doing a ton of work, we’ll see if they fill it."
I'm not sure this is really breaking anything new at all, but it's just another data point in the overwhelming argument in favor of the Giants taking a QB with the first pick of their draft. They will, presumably, not get to pick which guy they want unless they trade up, but one of either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders will almost certainly be available to them at #3 overall.
And maybe this is all just a kinda lazy smokescreen meant to scare the Jets and the Raiders, all while the Giants patiently wait for the Rams to come calling about Matt Stafford, but it sounds more like the Giants keeping all their options open, which would be a refreshingly modern (and smart) approach for them. And if Palmer's right that their major competition in the QB market is the *Las Vegas Raiders,* Giants fans have to feel pretty good about how this offseason is shaping up so far.
