The New York Giants are one of the select few teams in the NFL with a classic, timeless look to their uniforms. The blue jerseys and blue helmets with a red stripe are iconic. Over the years, attempts at alternate uniforms have mostly fallen flat. We're all still trying to forget the "Century Red" look that the team released in 2024.
After unveiling the 2026 Nike Rivalries uniforms for every team in the AFC South and the NFC North, the league announced that the NFC East and the AFC West will get Rivalries looks next season.
If the most recent crop of uniforms is any indication, there isn't much to be excited for.
New York Giants' 2027 Rivalries uniforms are set up to disappoint
Most of the 2026 Rivalries looks were met with their fair share of criticism. The Chicago Bears went with an oddly modern attempt at a throwback, while the Jacksonville Jaguars leaned a bit too far into creativity with their Jaguar print pants and teal helmets.

The Jags showed off their new look with the caption, "Fortune favors us." It may have been more appropriate to say, "Fortune favors those who don't watch us."
The few successful Rivalries uniforms this season come from teams with a more modern look as their primary uniform. Both the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans have seen their Rivalries release met mostly with praise, but they both have had successful alternate looks in recent years.

The Giants, on the other hand, have not had strong alternates in the past. Their best uniforms have stuck to the classic look that fans recognize. When a team has such a defined combination, it's difficult to make any alternate work.
That being said, there are a few ways that Big Blue's 2027 Nike Rivalries uniforms could hit the mark. They could go with a red jersey, potentially rectifying the mistake that was the "Century Red" look. Red jerseys with blue helmets and white pants can work nicely.
Or, a black jersey with blue and red accents could be a strong choice. Fans have already started to get creative with what the uniforms could look like. With a simple blue, red, and white color scheme, it should be hard to whiff on the uniform combination.
That being said, the 2026 Rivalries uniforms don't give fans much confidence that the Giants' look will pan out very well.
