Nope, don't even think about it Joe Schoen.

As of this writing, we are a little over two weeks away from the NFL trade deadline arriving on Nov. 5. Will the NY Giants and Joe Schoen end up being buyers or sellers? That really depends on what's going to end up happening over the next few games.

Sitting at 2-4, the G-Men have some crucial contests coming up to try and save their season and get back in the playoff hunt. Despite that, some analysts think it's time to start thinking about 2025 and move some pieces for draft capital.

Will that include Azeez Ojulari heading out of town early next month? CBS seems to think so. In a new piece from Tyler Sullivan, CBS is urging the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to make a trade for Ojulari, who is coming off a brilliant showing vs. the Bengals in Week 6. However, with Kayvon Thibodeaux on Injured Reserve, this would not be an ideal call from Schoen and his front office.

CBS urges the Buccaneers to try and trade for NY Giants pass-rusher Azeez Ojulari

"With Brian Burns and, when healthy, Kayvon Thibodeaux being the pillars of New York's pass rush, Ojulari is expendable as he plays on the final year of his rookie contract. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers could use an extra pass rusher, and Ojulari has three sacks and four quarterback hits through six games this season. "

On one hand, yes, if the Giants can get a solid draft pick in return for Ojulari, then it's something for Schoen to think about, especially if the Giants lose their next few games. However, with Thibodeaux banged up, the pass-rush depth is concerning.

If the Giants are able to turn things around and stay in contention for a playoff spot, there will be absolutely no reason to trade Ojulari. He has been playing well this season and the most important thing is that he's also been able to stay healthy.

Injuries have been brutal for him in recent campaigns. His rookie season, though, he was electric from start to finish, totalling eight sacks, a Giants rookie record. A tough decision could be on the way for Schoen in the upcoming weeks with some of his players, but unless this team is ready to give up on '24, then it feels like the wise call here would be to keep Ojulari until the end of the campaign at minimum.
