The NY Giants have had a rough week. Despite not even playing a game this past weekend, the Giants made the decision to bench Daniel Jones and promote Tommy DeVito to the starting quarterback position. If that wasn't bad enough, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made sure that the Giants' week got even worse.

According to Jordan Schultz, Buccaneers star wideout Mike Evans "is back at practice and is planning to play on Sunday vs the #Giants". Evans has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and the Bucs haven't won a game during that time. In fact, Tampa has been riding a four-game losing streak that they're hoping is snapped when they play the Giants this weekend.

Mike Evans is slated to return against NY Giants in Week 12

While some fans are going to make comments that the Giants were probably going to lose this game without Evans suiting up for the Bucs, it's certainly going to be a much tougher task winning this game now that one of the best receivers in the league is healthy. Evans has 335 yards and six touchdowns through seven games and is Baker Mayfield's favorite weapon. The Giants will certainly have their work cut out for them in trying to slow the long-time Bucs receiver down.

Not only is Evans an absolute rockstar but he's had a history of torching the Giants whenever he's faced them. Evans has suited up against the G-Men six times in his career and has collected 38 catches for 655 yards and seven trips into the end zone during that time. Evans has had no fewer than 55 yards during any of his games against New York.

Evans' most recent performance against the Giants came in 2021 when he had six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. Limiting the star wideout to these numbers might be considered a win for New York when the two teams meet up this weekend.

We obviously don't root for lingering injuries to anyone in the NFL but it'd have been nice if Evans could have maybe missed another week before returning to the Bucs starting lineup. But alas, it looks as though the Giants defense will have to prepare for slowing him down and ensuring he doesn't have a big game on Sunday.
