The Aaron Rodgers saga has dragged on for over a week as the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Minnesota Vikings wait to see where the four-time MVP will call his next home. The Giants reportedly have an offer to Rodgers, but it will be interesting to see how long general manager Joe Schoen is willing to wait.

The G-Men have had a productive offseason thus far. They have been very active in free agency, especially on the defensive side. They addressed their secondary with the addition of Paulson Adebo and Jevon Holland. New York also added to its pass-rushing unit by signing former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Chauncey Golston.

On offense, Big Blue's notable signings included adding James Hudson III and Stone Forsythe to the offensive line, bringing back Greg Van Roten, and retaining wide receiver Darius Slayton. The Giants have more work to do in free agency: acquire a veteran quarterback.

The New York Giants are not done in free agency until they sign a QB

With most notable free agents signed this offseason, Pro Football Focus recently ranked all 32 teams after the first week of free agency based on how each franchise has positioned itself heading into the draft and set itself up for the future. The Giants were ranked 31st among all NFL teams because of the open quarterback vacancy.

Tommy DeVito is currently the only signal caller on New York's roster, and the Giants have been the mix for several quarterbacks still available on the open market. The Giants are willing to play the waiting game with Rodgers but are also looking into other options.

Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson, and Jameis Winston have all visited the Giants over the last two weeks and could be considered options should the team miss out on Rodgers. Still, New York must have a second quarterback signed going into the NFL Draft next month.

Whoever the Giants do end up signing will likely be the starter in New York for one to two seasons. Big Blue is looking for a veteran quarterback who can come in short-term and mentor whichever prospect they take in the NFL Draft.

While the Giants sit at No. 3 in the draft, Schoen will have several crucial decisions, like moving up or down in the draft order. It's only a matter of time before we better know who the next quarterback will be in New York. One thing is for certain, in order for this team to move up the rankings, they need a franchise quarterback.
