The 2024 NFL Draft is here and fans have been speculating for months on what the NY Giants could do. Some have suggested they play it safe by selecting Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze, but others believe Joe Schoen could pull off some truly shocking moves on Day 1 of the draft.

Whether or not they will happen has yet to be determined. However, these three moves in particular seem a little more realistic than others. One thing is for sure, though, if Schoen gets deep into his bag and pulls off any one of these, the reactions from fans will be legendary:

3. Selecting Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 6 overall pick

This is the only move that would likely cause a mostly negative reaction amongst the fans. For many, selecting Michael Penix Jr. in the first round would be considered a reach. However, if the Giants are fully committed to selecting a quarterback on Day 1, Penix could be their guy depending on how the board falls.

Penix isn't a bad option at quarterback by any means, but taking him with the No. 6 overall pick would be a little crazy. Whether it be his injury history or technique concerns, there are more than enough reasons to be angry with Schoen for potentially drafting him so high.

Last season at Washington, Penix completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 4,906 yards, 36 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Despite these impressive stats, Penix may not be the guy for New York, especially given his consistently poor reception to pressure in the pocket.

Regardless, he could very well be an option depending on how highly Schoen values his arm strength and accuracy. There have been rumors surrounding the Giants' potential buyer's remorse for Daniel Jones, so Schoen may be more willing to move on from him than previously thought.
