The NY Giants have been dealt a pretty sizable blow on offense. In case you missed it, rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. suffered a non-contact injury at practice and the fear is that he suffered a pretty serious ankle injury - he's not expected back in the near future.

As things stand, the Giants will feature Devin Singletary, Eric Gray and Dante 'Turbo' Miller for the ground game. Gray was in a summer battle with Tracy for the RB2 job before the rookie went down. With so much youth for the RBs room, could it lead to Joe Schoen going after a veteran? We hope so, and we have these three players in mind for who the Big Blue GM should call:

Kareem Hunt

His best football is behind him, but running back Kareem Hunt makes a ton of sense for the Giants. He wouldn't cost too much and he'd provide valuable experience behind Singletary, who will be the featured back. Hunt has spent the last five seasons with the Browns, but he remains a free agent. He posted 411 yards last campaign, with nine touchdowns.

Dalvin Cook

From 2019-2022, Dalvin Cook was a Pro Bowler in four consecutive campaigns for the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, he suited up for the Jets and Ravens, but he finished with only 214 yards and no scores in 15 games played. Yes, similar to Hunt, he's nowhere near his best level from previous years. However, the Giants could bring him in on a veteran's minimum deal and let him go in for short-yardage downs and perhaps some goal-line work too. It wasn't long ago he was one of the best backs in the game. In the right system, he could make a difference.

Latavius Murray

We're keeping the theme here with former Pro Bowlers, with Latavius Murray being on our list. Some fans have mentioned Joshua Kelley or Jerick McKinnon, but a big-bodied back who can fight for extra yards could be an interesting way to go. Murray is a bit of a journeyman RB, as he has suited up for the Raiders, Vikings, Saints, Ravens, Broncos and Bills. Might the Giants be next? He rushed for 760 yards in 2022 and followed that up with 300 yards last season.
