When it was announced that former All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White would meet with the NY Giants in free agency, many fans hoped he would join Big Blue to bring some experience and flair to the defensive backs room. Unfortunately, he signed a one-year, $8.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams, as New York swung and missed on the star corner.

While the DBs room remains thin and Adoree' Jackson seems unlikely to return to New York, there are still a handful of seasoned veterans the Giants can pursue in free agency. Standout 2023 first-round-draft pick Deonte Banks could use a mentor to help him continue to grow and become one of the best corners in the NFL. With that being said, these five cornerback options are cheap and could be New York's contingency plan after missing out on White.

5. Ahkello Witherspoon

An injury-plagued 2022 season resulted in Witherspoon being cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he was unsure whether he would ever sign another NFL contract again. However, the 6-2 corner had a career year with the Los Angeles Rams in 2023, setting multiple career highs with 52 total tackles and 14 passes defended.

He started all 17 games for the first time ever in the previous campaign, helping stabilize the secondary on a young Rams secondary. Despite being targeted 6.4 times per game, Witherspoon only allowed a 51.4 percent catch rate, the ninth-best percentage among qualifying NFL cornerbacks.

One of the top outside corners remaining in free agency, Witherspoon would be a great rebound after missing on White. He is 29 and could sign a two-year deal with Big Blue. Witherspoon is one of the best cornerbacks on this list, but he will also be one of the priciest. If the Giants can bring him in on a relatively inexpensive deal, they should definitely consider it.
