2. RB Deon Jackson
Despite the loss of Saquon Barkley this offseason, we still don't see how Deon Jackson can make the final roster. Not only did Schoen bring in Devin Singletary already, but there's a very real chance he selects another running back in the upcoming NFL Draft. Even if Schoen doesn't go down this route, there are still two other backs ahead of Jackson on the depth chart.
In the lone start Jackson had last season with the Colts, he totaled just 14 yards on 13 carries while catching the ball five times for 14 yards. Given the flashes Eric Gray and Gary Brightwell have shown to be RB2s in the NFL, there simply just isn't a spot for Jackson right now.
That being said, Jackson is a prime candidate to return to the practice squad unless the Giants find another free agent they want to give a shot. Jackson has had his chances in a starting role before, yet has yet to produce anything extraordinary. Perhaps if given another shot he can prove us wrong, but as of now, it's not looking good for the Duke product to make the cut.
