Less than a month into the regular season for the NY Giants, the unreal amount of injuries have been a major talking point for Brian Daboll's team. On both sides of the ball, the G-Men are quite banged up, which is a problem leading up to the Monday Night Football showdown with the Seahawks.
One of the players people will have their eyes on leading up to kickoff is no doubt third-year pass-rusher Azeez Ojulari. The outside 'backer has missed the past two games due to a nagging hamstring issue.
This is the same Ojulari who missed 10 contests last year due to multiple injuries. He's a force when healthy, but he just can't seem to keep himself close to 100 percent. With his status being up in the air for Week 4, it only adds to the frustration for Big Blue supporters who want to see him in action.
Azeez Ojulari is hoping to return vs. the Seahawks
The good news is that, per Pat Leonard, things are moving in the right direction for Ojulari to feature in the MNF battle at MetLife Stadium. However, it seems like nothing will be known until that day. The next few days of practice will be crucial for him.
Ojulari was tremendous his rookie season, posting eight sacks. Last year, he only appeared in seven games, but he finished with an impressive 5.5 sacks. When he's got the pads on, there's no question that he's an outstanding contributor for Wink Martindale's defense.
The big problem here is that the Giants can't depend on him to stay healthy. He and Kayvon Thibodeaux are viewed as a duo that could potentially be one of the best pass-rush combos in the NFC - they just haven't had much time on the field together. Ojulari getting back for the Seahawks game would be massive for this team, but we won't know if he's able to play or not for a little while.
