In the first half of the battle between the NY Giants and Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, the G-Men completely dominated play and looked like the much better side. Despite that, the score was 10-10 when the two teams entered the locker rooms.
The Giants gave up a 101-yard touchdown on a fumble return following an Eric Gray turnover at the one-inch line. Then, to close the second quarter, the Seattle defense flew down the field to set up the game-tying field goal right. Brian Daboll was livid with the effort of his defense in the final minute of the half, showing plenty of anger on the sidelines:
The Giants defense looked awful to close out the first half
Can anyone blame Daboll for having that reaction? It took the Seahawks two plays to travel 45 yards down the field and into Big Blue territory. The Giants defense was caught napping, with Geno Smith and Tyler Lockett taking full advantage.
This is a game the Giants are underdogs in and taking it easy or recording silly mistakes can't happen. Daboll enters this game with a 1-3 record in 2024 and with plenty of people calling for him to get canned. He knows this team is better than what the record shows.
The Giants let the Week 2 game against the Commanders slip away and they were a few plays away from taking down the Cowboys in primetime in Week 4. It's fair for him to start losing patience with some of his players for underperforming. At the same time, defensive coordinator Shane Bowen shouldn't be taking his foot off the gas either.
Not a lot has gone right for the Giants this season except for the Week 3 win against the Cleveland Browns. While they've looked sharp against the Seahawks, letting the Hawks hang tight could prove to be costly.
