The vibes are strong for the NY Giants right now, as the team was able to scrape away a 10-7 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday. Before kickoff, though, countless headlines were made when Jay Glazer reported that Brian Daboll's relationship with Wink Martindale has been fractured.

However, maybe that's not the case? Against the Pats, the Big Blue defense was spectacular, intercepting Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe a combined three times. Daboll was asked about beef going on with Martindale after the Week 12 win, and he silenced the speculation in the best way possible:

Brian Daboll claims his relationship with Wink Martindale is perfectly fine

You've got to love that from Daboll. He kept things playful, joking that he and Martindale, both bigger dudes, typically argue the most over who gets the last slice of pizza at the team facility. That got people to laugh a bit, but there's still plenty of fans who are worried about Wink's future.

This isn't the first time potential issues between the two has been brought up, as Daboll and Martindale reportedly had a heated discussion at halftime of the 49-17 Dallas win over the Giants earlier this month. Dallas and Dak Prescott simply had their way with the NY defense.

The previous week against the Raiders too, the Giants struggled in slowing down Aidan O'Connell. However, it's been back-to-back weeks of Martindale's defense turning heads. Last week against the Commanders, the D forced five turnovers.

Against New England, Bobby Okereke, Deonte Banks and Xavier McKinney all were able to come away with timely interceptions. Make no mistake about it, the Giants defense was the main reason why this team was able to improve to 4-8 on the campaign.

We're guessing more rumors about Martindale will be coming over the next week, but let's just hope Daboll and his DC are able to stay on the same page the rest of the season. Martindale is quite valuable to this team and he had his playmakers ready for battle at MetLife.
