The Sept. 17 showdown between the NY Giants and Arizona Cardinals just got a bit more interesting. On Thursday night, teams across the NFL stole the show on Twitter in releasing their schedules. We've got to give props to the Tennessee Titans for their hilarious video announcement.
As for the Cardinals, give us a break. Arizona decided to post a thread announing their opponents through music and they went ahead and tried taking a shot at Daniel Jones. Yes, a lot of people remember him tripping over his own feet and falling short of an epic TD run against the Eagles. But, this is how Arizona remembers the $160 million man?
The Arizona Cardinals trolled Daniel Jones on Twitter in rough fashion
While we love Ella Mai's music, this is a joke from Arizona. Plenty of Giants fans are quick to defend Jones, who is coming off the best season of his career. Jones was so strong in 2022, that general manager Joe Schoen gave him a four-year, $160 million extension.
Jones helped power the Giants back to the postseason for the first time since 2016 - he was also brilliant in the NFC Wild Card Round win over the Minnesota Vikings. As for the Cardinals, they were one of the worst teams in the league last year.
The Cardinals finished the campaign with a lowly 4-13 record and in last place of the NFC West standings. Yeah, it was rough to see. Kyler Murray is still recovering from his torn ACL. It could be Colt McCoy getting the start once Week 2 rolls around.
The Arizona social media team thought they were clever with their troll jobs against the rest of the NFL, but a lot of folks have been left unimpressed. When the Giants take down the Cardinals 31-21 in the coming months, we'll see what they decide to tweet then.
