It only seemed like a matter of time before Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid decided that enough was enough. In this case, we're talking about former NY Giants first-round pick Kadarius Toney, who was traded to the Super Bowl champs before the deadline in 2022. Things simply didn't work for Toney in East Rutherford and now the same can be said about his time in KC.

With cutdown day here, the Chiefs made the call, releasing Toney after less than two years with the team. There were some highs for the speedster, including his two Super Bowl rings. However, there were also some off-the-field headaches, which the Chiefs didn't want to deal with anymore.

The Chiefs have released former Giants first-rounder Kadarius Toney

Coming out of Florida, Toney had a ton of potential and he made a splash during his rookie season with the G-Men in 2021. However, there was just too much drama surrounding him. His rookie year, he appeared in 10 games, posting four starts. Who could forget his breakout 189-yard game vs. Dallas? However, we also can't forget when he was ejected vs. the Cowboys for throwing a punch.

Then, there was of course all of Toney's beef with the Giants fanbase. The social media meltdowns were too many to count. After he made his way to the Chiefs, we thought things would stop there, but Toney kept taking shots and people in NY and New Jersey.

Just like in East Rutherford, Toney simply couldn't stay healthy with the Chiefs either. It was once again the case this summer, which clearly frustrated Reid and Co. Now that he's been released, the former first-rounder will now look for a new home.

Per Ian Rapoport, teams are going to be interested in trying to add him to their offense. So, they're just going to ignore all of the red flags? Good luck with that.
