For the first time in a while, Monday isn't filled with negativity for the NY Giants. Big Blue was able to improve to 2-5 on the year thanks to a thrilling 14-7 win over the Commanders on Sunday. Washington was close to tying things up late, but it wasn't meant to be for them.
On the New York sideline, there was plenty of relief for everyone. On the other side of the field, however, Commanders players were furious with the way things ended - and no one was more upset than star defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. Shortly after the final whistle, Allen went OFF on things:
Jonathan Allen blew a gasket after the rough loss to the Giants
Allen started off by saying the Giants whooped Washington's butt and that the Commanders have to be better. However, he didn't stop there, adding that he's sick and tired of losing. Oh, he also added several expletives during his response.
Washington was in a great spot to make things interesting in the fourth quarter, as a Saquon Barkley fumble prevented the Giants from making it a two-score game. The Commanders drove down the field and had Big Blue supporters worried sick the worst was about to happen.
Thankfully for everyone in the stadium rooting for the home team, a Sam Howell pass intended for Jahan Dotson fell to the turf on 4th-and-5. With the Giants escaping, they now have plenty of confidence leading up to the game with the Jets this weekend. As for the Commanders, they're 3-4.
Allen has been on the wrong side of these close games far too many times in his career. With it being such a key division game too, the stud DT wanted to see his squad leave East Rutherford with a victory. That didn't happen, which resulted in Allen blowing a gasket while speaking to the media. As for the Giants players, they're feeling a bit better. Sorry, Jonathan!
