What just happened? For the New York Giants, after a nine-win campaign in 2022 and a playoff victory, they had sky-high expectations after having a very productive offseason addressing all of their needs in both free agency and in the NFL Draft.

The team had an immediate test right away as under the lights of Sunday Night Football, the Giants were set up vs. the Dallas Cowboys - a team they have not defeated in 11 out of their last 12 games. But, this game could not have gone any worse for the men in blue, especially for their $160 million quarterback, Daniel Jones. A 40-0 defeat? Yikes.

Daniel Jones had a game to forget against the Cowboys in Week 1

Looking to build off his impressive 2022 season that saw him get a brand new contract, Jones' presser says all you need to know about his horrendous performance against Dallas on Sunday that had Giants fans both booing him and now probably having some have a concern about how he might perform for the season. It was terrible all the way around.

That Giants were embarrassed by the Cowboys 40-0 at MetLife Stadium and Jones put up a career-worst night as he went just 15 of 28 for 104 yards and two interceptions. This was a game where Jones and the offense never got into any sort of rhythm. The Giants had three turnovers, just 14 first downs and their leading receiver was tight end Darren Waller who mustered just three receptions for 36 yards in his Giants debut.

Now yes, his offensive line certainly did not help him as he was running for his life most of the night getting sacked seven times and scrambling too much and not getting any sort of time of protection to throw to his playmakers down the field. The OL was awful from the start.

This is just one game, but G-Men supporters are worried about Jones. He looked rough and made some questionable decisions, including the interception to Stephon Gilmore. In just Week 2 of the season, it seems like the Giants are already heading into a must-win game against the Arizona Cardinals, as their schedule does not get any easier the rest of the way.
