Still think he's not a good quarterback? Perhaps no one in the NFC gets more hate than Daniel Jones, as the NY Giants quarterback is constantly getting ripped apart by his haters for not being the right man for the job to lead the Big Blue offense.
All of that nonsense was put to bed on Sunday in the second half of the Giants memorable win over the Arizona Cardinals. Jones was downright electric, finishing with 321 passing yards and two touchdowns, while adding 59 more hashes on the ground and another score.
The team over at Pro Football Focus loved what they saw out of Danny Dimes, giving him a 92.5 grade for Week 2. He finished tied with Titans signal-caller Ryan Tannehill at the top. So, will this finally get some people off Jones' back?
Daniel Jones delivered in the clutch for the NY Giants in Week 2
Seeing off-the-charts passion from Jones was fantastic against the Cardinals. With NY's back against the wall, Jones stepped up and delivered for this squad. To open the second half, the Giants took a huge chance and it paid off with Jones hitting Jalin Hyatt for a 58-yarder.
That was only the start for Jones, as he went 17-of-21 for 259 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 58 yards and another score in the final 30 minutes of play. That's just unreal from the fifth-year signal-caller. It's no wonder that PFF had him as one of the best QBs in the game for Week 2.
Looking ahead to Thursday night, Jones is going to have to be on his A-game once again if the Giants are going to have a shot at upsetting the San Francisco 49ers. Not having Saquon Barkley out on the field is going to be rough, but people are starting to believe in Jones.
Yes, the haters will be ready to come after him once again if he struggles vs. the mighty SF defense, but his second half vs. Arizona still has people talking. He'll only shut up even more people if he can do his thing in primetime this week.
