You don't have to ask NY Giants tight end Darren Waller if he knows the importance of taking on the Dallas Cowboys. While this is his intro to the rivalry during his playing days, he's no stranger to the hatred Big Blue supporters have for America's Team.

Waller's dad is a Giants fan, while his mom has love for Washington. Now that he's suiting up for the G-Men, Waller understands that this isn't any regular game. That's why he's looking forward to the task at hand come Sunday night - he's ready to take down the Cowboys.

"I know how heated and competitive these games have been over the years."

Waller added that his dad, who grew up in Queens, isn't 'the biggest Cowboys fan.' That'd be an understatement. Now that the elder Waller will be watching his son take on Dallas for the first time in a Giants jersey, it's only going to have him fired up to see what his boy can do.

Giants fans are right there with Waller's pops, as the expectations are high for the TE this campaign. Everyone got a taste of what Waller can do in his preseason debut vs. Carolina, as he caught three balls for 30 yards on the opening drive.

The chemistry between Waller and Daniel Jones is there, with the two ready to keep building things with the regular season here. If Waller can prove to be a matchup problem for the Cowboys defense, it's only going to have people even more excited for the '23 campaign.

The Cowboys are favored to head to MetLife Stadium and leave East Rutherford with a victory in Week 1. Waller is going to do everything possible to prevent that from happening - we'll find out soon enough if he and the G-Men can get the job done.
