3. Tommy DeVito getting benched for Tyrod Taylor was a surprise

You can admit it - were you shocked that Brian Daboll benched Tommy DeVito after his rough showing in the first half against Philly? DeVito has been a fun story for the Giants this season, going 3-2 as a starter. However, no one can argue that he's looked like an undrafted rookie over this past six quarters of work.

In the lopsided loss to the Saints, DeVito didn't look sharp at all. Despite that, Daboll didn't hesitate after that loss in saying that he was going to stick with Tommy Cutlets as his starter for Week 17. Against the Eagles, though, DeVito didn't get anything going on offense, as he went 9-of-16 for only 55 yards.

Because of that, Daboll decided to go with veteran signal-caller Tyrod Taylor for the second half. Taylor had two throws that he's going to want to have back: one to Barkley and another to Darren Waller that easily could have been a touchdown. Taylor was able to hit Slayton for the 70-yard score, but he didn't do enough to help NY record an upset win. Against the Rams, Daboll will likely go with Taylor as his starter, but things are unclear right now.
