Eli Manning posts hilarious reaction to Saquon Barkley's viral squat clip
People are still talking about the video of NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley going beast mode in the weight room. In case you missed it, No. 26 took to Twitter on Thursday to share a clip of him, barefoot mind you, squatting 585 pounds.
That's 12 total plates of 45 pounds each for those of you keeping track at home. Countless fans out there were left speechless with what he was able to do. Eli Manning? Not so much. For the Giants legend, this was something he was able to do on a frequent basis when he was in his playing days. Yeah, we believe you Mr. Manning:
Eli Manning's reaction to Saquon Barkley squatting 585 pounds was gold
Oh Eli - the man never disappoints with a gold tweet to make the Giants fanbase laugh. The idea of Manning even trying to hit 315 pounds is pretty funny. There's no way, even if his life depended on it, he'd be able to come close to 585 pounds.
That's not the case for Barkley, who was able to knock out four reps with relative ease. Barkley continues to prove he's a freak of nature and the workout he posted this week only has people dreaming of him putting the pen to paper on a new deal.
Manning is in Barkley's corner, as it quarterback Daniel Jones. Until July 17 arrives, everyone will be anxious to find out whether or not the two sides are able to come to terms on a new contract. Joe Schoen won't overpay, but come on, Barkley deserves his raise.
Until then, Barkley will keep on working out on his own ahead of training camp arriving on July 26. We can fully expect more head-turning clips to be posted on social media. With that, we'll just have to wait and see what kind of funny response Manning comes up with next.
