With Saquon Barkley now with the Philadelphia Eagles, he's the main former NY Giants playmaker to focus on in the City of Brotherly Love. He's not the only one, though, as the list includes veteran defensive back James Bradberry.

Bradberry first joined the Eagles in 2022 on a one-year deal. He played quite well, which opened the door for Philly to give him a three-year, $38 million extension. That contract proved to be a mistake, though, with Bradberry struggling mightily last campaign. Now, he's switched positions, but per reporter Zach Berman, he is starting camps working with the second team at safety:

James Bradberry's time with the Philadelphia Eagles could end before we know it

With all of his experience and the way he performed for the Eagles after being a stud for the Giants, who would have thought Bradberry's play would have dipped like this? Because of how far down he is on the depth chart, trade rumors are starting to fly.

The Eagles are loaded on defense, but it's not going to make Howie Roseman thrilled that an aging veteran who isn't expected to contribute much is still on the roster. It's a tough spot for Philly - if they release him, they'll have to eat a large chunk of dough.

However, if they do get rid of Bradberry, it could open up the opportunity for Roseman to sign a star safety, as plenty of people in Philly are dreaming of a Justin Simmons move getting done. That's the last thing Giants fans want to see, as they're still holding on to hope Joe Schoen will work his magic there.

There was once a time when Bradberry was considered one of the top cornerbacks in the NFC. Now, he has moved to a different spot in the secondary and he can't even get significant time practicing with the 1s to start camp? It's not something we expected and it's now looking like his days in the NFC East could actually end up being numbered.
