Watch Darius Slayton haul in amazing catch on deep ball from Daniel Jones
It really has been a few days to remember for NY Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton. On Friday, Slayton and quarterback Daniel Jones hooked up for the play of the day, with Danny Dimes delivering a perfect ball downfield for No. 86 to come down with.
The two wasted no time on Sunday during the camp sesssion to get people off their seats once again as well. In the middle of the action, Jones fired the ball deep in hopes that Slayton would come down with it. His target didn't disappoint, with Slayton somehow coming down with an incredible grab:
Darius Slayton and Daniel Jones are making it look easy for the Giants
Props to the Giants cameraman for catching this play as well. Here, Slayton had first-round pick Deonte Banks all over him, with safety Xavier McKinney closing in on him. This was the same matchup from Friday's brilliant throw-and-catch.
Slayton never took his eyes off the ball and he was able to haul it in. Banks did everything he could to prevent the completion from being recorded, but Slayton not only reeled the ball in, but he also maintained control as he flew to the ground.
One of the biggest takeaways early on at camp has been the Giants taking more shots offensively. We don't have to tell you that O was pretty plain last season, which was frustrating to see for the fanbase. This is something Slayton was fully aware of.
That's why he said this offseason that he was ready for the training wheels to come off and for the Big Blue offense to be more explosive. The hope is that offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will open up the playbook a bit more this season and let his guys do their thing. So far, so good for Jones and Slayton.
