Yes, there's a big difference between training camp and making plays against opposing defenses during the regular season. However, it's hard not to get excited about the play of NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones this week in East Rutherford.

Jones has been looking better with each day, throwing the ball all over the field. More of the same was on display Friday evening during Day 3 of camp. The highlight of the session for No. 8? It no question had to be an amazing throw downfield to wide receiver Darius Slayton.

Slayton had Deonte Banks on him and safety Xavier McKinney close by as well. Still, Jones was able to drop this ball right on the money for Slayton:

Daniel Jones hit Darius Slayton with a dime that fans are still talking about

That's why they call him Danny Dimes. Seriously, this ball could not have been thrown more perfectly, as Jones hit Slayton in stride. This is the kind of highlight that Big Blue supporters are going to want to see more of moving forward.

Earlier this offseason, Slayton said that he's ready for the NY offense to be more explosive. There's no question that things were pretty vanilla at times last campaign, but with the new additions for the offense in 2023, there should be more exciting play-calling on the way from Mike Kafka.

Jones will enter Week 1 with plenty of confidence, as there are several new stud weapons at his disposal. This includes Darren Waller, who has also been looking superb at camp. The same can be said for Slayton, who thinks he has what it takes to be a WR1 for this squad.

Slayton is back with the team on a two-year deal. If he and Jones can keep building their chemistry and hookup for plays like the one featured above, then some exciting days surely are on the way for the offense as a whole.
