Alright, this kid is going to fit in with the NY Giants just fine. In the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the G-Men went with Minnesota offensive lineman John Michael Schmitz. The 6-3, 305-pounder is the center of the future for this team.

Fans love this move and understandably so. Schmitz is a total beast and he's going to give opposing defensive lineman a ton of problems. Not only that, but he hasn't wasted any time in embracing his new home. His latest tweet shows us just how fired up he is to be East Rutherford-bound.

New NY Giants center John Michael Schmitz has won over the fanbase already

All hail the New York Giants! That clip from the movie Madagascar is fantastic and it hits home with how Schmitz must be feeling right now. A 2022 First Team All-Big-Ten pick, plus a First Team All-American, Schmitz is oozing with potential and he fills a major need for this offense.

As we've said time and time again, the losses of Jon Feliciano and Nick Gates stung quite a bit in March. However, people had their eyes on Day 2 of the NFL Draft for Schoen to find a monster in the trenches to snap the ball to Daniel Jones.

Schmitz is that and more. He plays with a mean streak and he's never afraid to get his hands dirty. He's a fantastic blocker and he will surely be an issue for the opposition once Week 1 arrives.

All in all, Schoen has been working his magic in the draft, trading up for Banks on Thursday and then also moving up to land Schmitz. It's clear the Minnesota OL is going to bring a blue-collar work ethic to East Rutherford too. It really feels like Schoen hit a home run with this selection.
