How much time will NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley miss for this team? That's the concern on everyone's mind to start the new week. Barkley went down with what looked to be a serious injury on Sunday in Arizona, but the team believes No. 26 suffered a sprained ankle.
Barkley is undergoing an MRI, which will hopefully confirm the news that the Pro Bowl running back has avoided a major injury. Head man Brian Daboll was asked about Barkley's health and he said he remains optimistic that his star playmaker will be back on the field sooner than originally expected:
NY Giants RB Saquon Barkley is dealing with an ankle injury
When Barkley smashed his helmet on the ground in anger, so many of us thought that he had suffered a serious injury. Luckily, that doesn't appear to be the case. With the G-Men playing on Thursday, No. 26 is expected to miss that contest.
However, depending on the results of the MRI, we could see Barkley back in action for the Monday Night Football showdown vs. the Seahawks in Week 4. We'll find out soon enough just how many contests Barkley will be sidelined for.
NY Giants ILB Micah McFadden had a terrible showing vs. Arizona
Meanwhile on defense, Big Blue supporters weren't happy with multiple players in the Week 2 win, with inside linebacker Micah McFadden surely being on the list. McFadden looked lost at times and he had trouble making routine tackles. This can't continue for him moving forward.
When the Giants shockingly traded for LB/safety Isaiah Simmons this summer, a lot of folks hoped that he would land the starting job next to Bobby Okereke. After what we've seen from McFadden thus far this campaign, you'd figure that Simmons will get more playing time moving forward. McFadden has been frustrating to watch and people don't have a lot of confidence in his abilities leading up to Thursday's battle with the mighty 49ers.
