The health of Wan'Dale Robinson has proven to become even more important for head man Brian Daboll and the NY Giants. That's because we won't be seeing veteran wideout Cole Beasley out on the field for the first part of the campaign.
According to NFL insider Jordan Raanan, the Giants have placed Beasley on the practice squad Injured Reserve. With this, Beasley will miss at least the first four games of the season with his quad injury. The injury isn't expected to be overly serious, but it's troubling Beasley enough where he won't be in action until Week 5.
Cole Beasley is dealing with a quad injury for the NY Giants
With Beasley on the sidelines, this means that there's a bit more urgency for Robinson to get himself back close to full health as soon as possible. It was fantastic when he was removed off the PUP list, as the former second-round pick is ready to make a splash early on this campaign.
Robinson suffered his torn ACL late in the showdown vs. the Lions last fall, which was devastating for him. However, he worked his tail off to get himself healthy and things are trending in the right direction for him. We'll see how he's able to play vs. Dallas and in the coming weeks.
WR Cam Sims signed to the Giants practice squad
In other wide receiver news, youngster Cam Sims has been signed to the practice squad to take Beasley's spot for now. Sims has already received plenty of love on social media, as Big Blue supporters have been reminded of a sweet TD grab he posted against the Cowboys in '21.
Sims checks in at 6-5, 220 pounds. There's been a need for a big-bodied wideout for quite some time for this offense. If Sims' number is ever called this campaign and he makes his way to the active roster, he'll surely be a player to keep an eye on.
