Giants News: Saquon Barkley ankle issue, Tommy DeVito starting, Darius Slayton upset
Brian Daboll confirmed that Tommy DeVito will remain his starter
If you were hoping for their to be a quarterback change this week against the Commanders, it's not going to happen. On Sunday, Daboll confimed that he's going to stick with Tommy DeVito as his starting quarterback. DeVito has started the last two games with backup QB Tyrod on Injured Reserve. Daniel Jones is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
In the defeat against Dallas in Week 10, DeVito completed 14-of-27 pass attempts for 86 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. His interception was a throw that he definitely wants back, as he tried to force a deep shot to Jalin Hyatt. Daboll was not happy at all with DeVito on this particular play. It was a big mistake from the rookie:
With the way DeVito has been playing since taking over the offense, plenty of Big Blue supporters have been calling for Matt Barkley to get a shot. Heck, people even wouldn't mind seeing Jacob Eason, signed to the practice squad last week, be given a shot to throw the ball around. That's not going to happen, though, as Coach Dabes is sticking with the NJ native.
