After a week off due to their bye, the NY Giants are back on the field getting ready for the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. This team is starting to get healthy finally, with one big name looking to potentially make his long-awaited return: quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Taylor has been out since suffering his serious rib injury against the New York Jets. After a trip to Injured Reserve, Taylor is now set to potentially get the start in primetime. However, will Brian Daboll go with him over Tommy DeVito?

Tyrod Taylor is set to return from his rib injury for the NY Giants

A lot of people are arguing that Taylor gives the Giants, 4-8 on the season, their best chance to win. Taylor is a veteran quarterback who has looked strong at times running the offense for this team. However, DeVito has won over countless hearts in New York and New Jersey thanks to his strong play since taking over as the starter.

DeVito is 2-1 while leading the offense out onto the field. His loss came in a brutal showing against the Cowboys, but the Giants have been able to post back-to-back wins over the Commanders and Patriots. In the victory over Washington, DeVito tossed for 246 yards and three touchdowns. Then vs. New England, he threw for 191 yards and a score.

The thing about DeVito too is that he's playing for a possible future with the G-Men as well. He wants to keep proving to Joe Schoen that he can be a solid QB2 for 2024 and beyond. Taylor is a free agent after this year and the expectation is he'll ink elsewhere this offseason. Coach Dabes has a decision to make ahead of Week 14, but sticking with DeVito seems like it should be the right choice.
