With the way the 2023 campaign has gone for the NY Giants, it's safe to say a lot of people are quite upset with general manager Joe Schoen. While he's not on the hot seat just yet, John Mara and Co. have probably been fuming with how the G-Men have looked this season.

Daniel Jones tearing his ACL, coupled with his poor play, has a lot of people thinking that Schoen and New York could opt to draft a new signal-caller early in next year's NFL Draft. Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are at the top of the list. However, could Schoen end up going with someone else? Please, not Bo Nix.

Giants using a first-round pick on Bo Nix would be a huge mistake

Nix has been impressive this year for Oregon, throwing for 3,539 yards, 35 touchdowns and only two interceptions. No disrespect to the kid, but we don't even think he's a first-rounder - Nix has second round written all over him.

Yes, the yards and touchdowns are nice, but Nix also has a LOADED receivers group to throw to and their YAC are no question inflating his numbers a bit. Nix does have a rocket for an arm, but Williams or Maye should be Schoen's priority if he's going to take a QB that high.

With there being a ton of pressure on him to knock his next draft out of the park, Schoen can't take a gamble on someone like Nix. He needs a sure-fire stud as his next first-rounder, as fans aren't going to forgive him anytime soon for blowing it with right tackle Evan Neal.

Entering Sunday's game with the Patriots, the Giants are 3-8 on the campaign and are projected to take home the No. 5 overall pick in the draft. Depending on how the rest of the season goes, that pick could either climb or fall. Regardless of where NY is on the big board, we hope they stay away from Nix.
