Does NY Giants general manager Joe Schoen have another exciting move on the way? It was a busy offseason for Schoen in making trades, landing star tight end Darren Waller from the Raiders and former first-round pick Isaiah Simmons from the Cardinals.

Now, people are waiting to see if Schoen will go after Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers. Akers is not happy with his current situation with the NFC West side and even Sean McVay said that LA is looking to deal him.

With Saquon Barkley injured and out for the next three weeks, could a move to East Rutherford make sense? The Sporting News' Joe Rivera seems to think so, as he has listed the Colts and G-Men as the best trade fits for the speedster.

Could the NY Giants make a move and trade for Rams running back Cam Akers?

"The Giants have an opportunity to take advantage of a weak NFC this year, and to do that, they should be looking to make low-cost upgrades throughout the year. That means a trade for Akers to provide a 1-2 punch with Barkley at the top would be beneficial.

With Barkley dealing with his sprained ankle, the Big Blue offense won't be the same without him. There's going to be a lot of pressure on backup RB Matt Breida to handle the workload, while we should also see plenty of Gary Brightwell and Eric Gray moving forward.

However, someone like Akers could really make an impact for the Giants while Barkley is sidelined. On the year, Akers hasn't had much success running the ball, posting only 29 yards on 22 carries. That average of 1.3 yards per rush is enough to make you lose your appetite.

However, Akers impressed for the Rams last season, rushing for 786 yards (4.2 YPC) and seven touchdowns. He's unhappy with the Rams, but a fresh start could be just what he needs right now. Will that fresh start come with the G-Men? We'll find out soon if Schoen is interested or not.
