The long wait for the 2024 NFL schedule release to get here is almost over, as the NY Giants will find out when and where they'll be playing for each game come Wednesday, May 15. Obviously, a lot of attention will go to who Big Blue will open the year with for Week 1.
However, people will be circling their calendars for some big-time NFC East matchups, of course including the first 'revenge game' against Saquon Barkley now that he's with the Philadelphia Eagles. Outside of that, Giants fans will be ready to pack their bags for games outside of East Rutherford - might one flight be much longer than the others?
Will the NY Giants end up facing the Panthers in Germany this season?
As Art Stapleton noted, there has definitely been buzz that Brian Daboll and Co. will be taking on the Carolina Panthers in Germany. This campaign, the Carolina Panthers are locked in for a game at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
The Allianz Arena is home of FC Bayern, a European soccer powerhouse. While there are no set dates for the Giants yet, we do know their full list of 2024 opponents, with a road game against the Panthers on the way. That game could be in Charlotte, or it could be in Munich.
No disrespect to the beautiful state of North Carolina, but something tells us Big Blue supporters would rather get their passports ready for a trip to Germany instead. And if you're of legal drinking age, those German beers before the Giants game would taste better than a Bud Light outside of Bank of America Stadium.
The Giants-Panthers meeting will also be special for pass-rusher Brian Burns, as it will be his first contest against his former team. NY trading for Burns is viewed by many as one of the best moves of the offseason across the NFL. By May 15 the latest, we'll know for sure if a trip to Germany will be on the way or not. If so, the energy at the Allianz Stadium will be off the charts for Giants fans to enjoy.
