This was a total joke.

The NFL is becoming a joke when it comes to cracking down on celebrations from players. Yes, we fully understand if laundry needs to hit the turf if something egregious happens. However, against the Seahawks, NY Giants wideout Darius Slayton was hit with a 15-yard penalty and come on, what are we even doing here?

Slayton came down with a tremendous reception, which came on a deep ball from Daniel Jones - no that's not a typo, Jones tossed a dime down the field for No. 86 to come down with. Slayton got up, signaled it was a first down and to move the chains. Yet, he was flagged for this?

Darius Slayton should have never been flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty

Slayton couldn't believe this either. What did he do that was so bad? Literally nothing. He made a huge play for his offense and had every reason to be fired up. All he did was point to move the chains and that it was a first down. Yet, the officials deemed it to be inappropriate?

Giants fans would have been livid if it would have prevented the Giants from putting some points on the board, but the opposite turned out to be the case. Later on in that drive, Jones delivered another perfect ball to Slayton, this time for a go-ahead touchdown. Boom:

That was a pretty throw and catch between the two. Slayton celebrated in style, but this time there was no flag called against him. Slayton started off his day with a rough drop, which had people calling for him to hit the bench. Now, though, Giants fans are showering him with love.

There have been plenty of trade rumors surrounding Slayton's name, but he has proven his worth in the best way possible against the Seahawks. As for the unsportsmanlike call? Nothing to see there. The No Fun League strikes again.
