From the moment he arrived to East Rutherford, NY Giants general manager Joe Schoen has been a rockstar. He's played a major role in the culture being completely changed for the better for Big Blue and fans love him.

Schoen has made plenty of tough decisions during his time in the NFC East, more of the same will be on the way once the 2023 NFL Draft arrives. Luckily, Schoen knows a thing or two about getting decisions right in the first round. In this piece, we're taking a look at his first-rounders in the past with NY, while also taking a look at some of the calls he made while with the Bills.

NY Giants 2022 first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux : A-

To start things off, Schoen picked Oregon pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux with the No. 5 overall pick in last year's NFL Draft. Thibodeaux has a bright future ahead of him, and people didn't waste time in trying to compare him to the one and only Michael Strahan. Let's hold the phone on that for now, as Thibodeaux is still only about to enter his second year in the NFL.

Despite that, the expectations sure are going to be high for him, and we're projecting the former first-rounder to finish with eight sacks next season. That would double his total from 2022. Thibodeaux's rookie season got off to a bit of a slow start. Things were also delayed due to his knee injury suffered in the preseason.

However, he really hit his stride in the second half of the campaign, with fans still fired up over his showing against the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field. His touchdown very well may have made the difference in NY not only coming out on top that night, but punching its ticket to the postseason as well. The '23 season could be huge for this kid. We're excited to see what he does.
