With the way NY Giants wideout Malik Nabers has been looking at training camp, it's easy to be thankful that Joe Schoen and Co. decided to use the No. 6 overall pick on him. Nabers has been downright electric and he has people counting down the days for the season-opener to get here.

As it turns out, the Indianapolis Colts nearly prevented the Giants from making that pick. Well, maybe it wasn't that close. In the season finale of Giants Hard Knocks, we have seen that the Colts offered the Giants their No. 15 overall pick, their No. 46 overall pick and a 2025 second-rounder for No. 6. Schoen said thanks, but no thanks:

The Colts tried to trade for the NY Giants' No. 6 overall pick on draft night

As soon as Schoen hung up the phone with Colts general manager Chris Ballard, he let the rest of his team inside their draft war room know that he wasn't going to move down - No. 15 was simply not that exciting for him.

The Jets were also interested in trying to move up it looks like, but again, Schoen knew in his heart what he wanted to do with his first-round pick. Nabers has been a joy to watch and the hype around this young man is only going to grow once the Week 1 battle with the Vikings gets here.

Nabers was a total stud at LSU catching the ball from Jayden Daniels and now more of the same should be on the way with Daniel Jones feeding him the rock. The extra draft picks from the Colts could have been nice for Schoen and Co., but at the end of the day, he made the right choice.

The speedster is a freak of nature and the fact that he's donning Big Blue gear is making countless people happy. A big rookie season is surely on the way for Nabers. Get your popcorn ready to see what this kid can do.
