We're going to go ahead and save this clip and hope that former NFL head coach Herm Edwards eats his words. Leading up to Week 1, a lot of people are feeling optimistic about the new-look offense for the NY Giants.

It's safe to say Edwards isn't on the list. While on ESPN's NFL Live, Edwards was asked about the Giants offense heading into the new season and whether or not he's buying into Mike Kafka's unit. Edwards didn't hesitate in saying no, while also taking a shot at Daniel Jones.

Herm Edwards isn't a believer of the NY Giants ahead of the 2023 season

Edwards basically said that if a defense can find a way to contain Saquon Barkley, then the Giants are going to be in a lot of trouble. Edwards added by saying this would lead to the Giants having to throw the ball more, with him not having a lot of trust in Danny Dimes, calling him out for only throwing 15 touchdowns last season.

He went on to say that he hopes Jones does well this season at the end of his rant, but come on, this guy has hater written all over him. Edwards is no stranger to East Rutherford, as he was head coach of the Jets from 2001 to 2005.

He posted some strong campaigns with the team, but was out the door after going 4-12 in '05. Apparently some of the Jets-Giants rivalry is still alive in the ex-NYJ head man, but he's got to wake up and smell the coffee here.

Darren Waller, Parris Campbell Jr. and Jalin Hyatt can make a big difference for the passing game, while a healthy Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson will be a major help. Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins and others will be studs too. The 2023 campaign has what it takes to be incredible for the G-Men. Edwards may doubt this team, but they'll be ready to prove him and so many others wrong.
