Is Dexter Lawrence playing this week? Latest injury updates for Giants vs. Packers
In the 10-7 win over the New England Patriots in Week 12, the NY Giants were without the one and only Dexter Lawrence. Sexy Dexy is dealing with a hamstring injury, but the hope was that he'd get himself close to 100 percent during the bye week.
It's looking like things could take a bit longer than expected. On Wednesday, Lawrence missed practice and it's up in the air when he'll be able to get himself back on the field. With that said, head man Brian Daboll said there's still a chance Lawrence will be able to suit up vs. Green Bay on Monday night.
Dexter Lawrence may miss Monday Night Football vs. the Packers
If Lawrence is able to practice on Friday, then we very well could end up seeing him in action against Jordan Love and the Packers. However, if he's off the field on Friday, then it'd be doubtful to see him try and bring Love down in primetime.
Lawrence, despite missing the win over the Patriots, has been absolutely brilliant this year and easily one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL. Through 11 games, the All-Pro DT has posted 41 total tackles, four sacks and two pass deflections.
Offensive linemen have had a nightmare trying to contain the 6-4, 340-pounder, as he's been a delight to watch. However, this hamstring injury is a bit concerning for the superstar talent. It's been a year of nightmare injuries for the G-Men, and you just hate to see Lawrence going through this.
Later in the week, we should have more information on if he'll be able to give things a go or not. Having Lawrence available will help the underdog Giants try and post an upset. If he's forced to miss his second straight game, it will be a big-time relief for Love and Co.
